HOW TO GET ISO 15189 CERTIFICATION – MEDICAL LAB?

EAS audits and provides certification against ISO 15189:2012 Medical laboratories — Requirements for quality and competence.

By obtaining this certification the medical laboratories can demonstrate their quality and competence against these International standard requirements. This standard is also used for confirming or recognizing the competence of medical laboratories by laboratory customers, regulating authorities and accreditation bodies.

This certification differs from the ISO 17025 –laboratory Accreditation, and ISO 15189 Certification is more preferred as this gives more importance towards patient well being. It also addresses pre-analytical and post-analytical activities, where as the former only addresses the general requirements for testing laboratories.
